Unexplained Random
Hauntings
These are just only 2 random tales by readers of the many mysterious
unexplained ghostly hauntings in Malaysia.
A Haunted House?
I think it is not right to categorized buildings which are unkempt
derelict houses, old schools, hospitals etc. as being haunted just by their physical
appearances. Whether these are demonic entities, pontianaks or simply just wandering
ghosts which can roam anywhere as opposed to residential ghosts. Residential ghosts have a special affinity or
very strong attachment (whether good or bad) in that place. Anyway to cut to
the chase, I have 2 unexplainable eerie stories of people who are living in
absolutely normal looking houses.
1st Story
19
year old Rina was studying at an outstation college and her exams were over. Her
family hometown is in Jerantut in the state of Pahang. She had homemade gifts from
her entire family, as for youngest brother, 6 year old Hafiz, which had a hand
painted face mask of Ronald McDonald.
The famous Clown from
McDonald’s
One night, Rina was washing the dishes after dinner and the
rest of the family had adjourned to living room to watch a TV program. Rina was
facing the sink which was just beside the kitchen wall with partially opened louvers.
It was only 7pm then and the night was getting a bit dark except for the
neighbor’s dim low-wattage night light which provided some illumination.
Rina involuntarily jumped backwards in shocked…..seeing a
glimpse of something small moving beside outside of the kitchen louvres. Momentarily
stunned she forced herself to peer at the small fuzzy shadow who was moving up
& down behind past the window louvers. She was truly surprised to realize that it had darkish red hair with pale
white face…..it was the Ronaldo McDonald’s face mask!!!
Rina straight away assumed that it was her Hafiz playing
with his mask and rushed towards the back door. She wanted to warn her brother
that their parents will most probably give him a beating if they found him
playing outside at night. However despite looking high and low at the backyard beside
the kitchen she could not see any sign of her younger brother.
Wary and tired she made her way to the front of her house …
where she saw her family including Hafiz who was happily playing with his game
boy. Rina marched directly at her brother and whispered angrily asking where he
was and she saw him playing with mask.
Rina’s parents heard the outburst and look at each other in
amazement then her mother said that Hazif did not go out to play in fact he was
with them all along!
2nd Story
Betty, a young woman, tells of her personal experiences with
the world of the paranormal. She lives with her husband, Bill Loh, her
mother-in-law and their 2 small children. They reside in Kampar, an ex-mining
and now a university town (UTAR) with a population of around 70,000 in the
state of Perak.
One night when she was fast asleep she heard a child crying and
thinking it must be one of their kids. She got up from their bed and when to
put on her bedroom slippers and walked to the door, she felt a hand grabbing
her ankle. Thinking it was her husband, she angrily kick off his hand…saying “Stop
it..’ and turned around and glared at him.
The night was dark with only light streaming from the moonlight
from their bedroom and it was too dark to see the black image which was lying
flat up on the bedroom floor. Although the bedroom is dark she could barely
make out the black image except for the white teeth but something was odd…it
did not like Bill.
Betty casually looked at their bed and was terrified to see
her husband sleeping ….she let out a hair-splitting scream and she jumped scrambling
backwards. When she finally looked downwards the black figure was gone!
A few weeks later, her mother-in-law complained to Betty
that she could smelt as if someone had recently been smoking. Betty realized the
smell was coming from the back room of the house and together with her
mother-in-law went to check it out. When the two ladies got to the unused back
room (storage/spare bedroom) and opened the door, that room had a very unmistakably
strong tangy tobacco smoke smell…. but who had been smoking? All the windows
were securely closed and nobody in the family smoked!
